Welcome to Snard's Blog

Welcome, Gentle Listeners and Readers!

You know me as the slightly higher-pitched voice on the podcast -- Snard-- or as most of the world calls me, Michelle, and I'm here to entertain you with new blogityness in addition to Jen's contributions.

As you can probably tell from the podcast (if you listen, which you should), we do a TON of research while we are watching the shows, often triggered by curiosity about what we see as we watch. The coding of colors in costumes, for instance, was first made truly clear to us in Nightmares as we noticed the color red popping up over and over. We also watch for themes, lines and moments that stick out as odd or seemingly inconsistent and dig to figure out why they are there and what is really going on. We find a lot.

There is so much, in fact, and we simply can't cover it all in the show, try as we might. The way to bridge the gap and showcase the full brilliance of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and other masterpieces yet to be discussed), then, is blogs and articles. Hence, blog.

Here, I will be primarily writing about what I observe and study, which is the workings of myth (particularly Greek myth), costuming, and color psychology, with a sprinkle of arcane knowledge to boot.

I will also be writing anything else I want because it's my damn blog. Or anything you want me to because I love you dearly.

I have so much to tell you - I can't wait. You really, really don't want to miss this,
